Over the past 14 years, through her NGO, Nkechi Ogbuefi Charity Empowerment (NICE), she has distributed thousands of free Medicated glasses, drugs, sanitary pads, mosquito nets, health awareness materials, and food to beneficiaries across the nation. For the painful fact that many citizens' salary & minimum wage can't buy a bag of rice, The Member Representing Anaocha 1 Constituency & the only woman in the state Assembly who doubles as the Deputy Minority Whip Anambra State House Of Assembly Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi Today 16th October, 2024 declared a state of emergency on Hunger, malnutrition, food wastage & low Agricultural participation by distribution of rice to the 4th vulnerable group beneficiaries of okada riders to cushion the exorbitant fuel price, multiple taxation, inflation, hunger & unprecedented food prices ravaging the poor, the sick, elderly & low echelons through her humanitarian NGO, Nkechi Ogbuefi Charity Empowerment (NICE). October 16th every year is a day organised by the United Nations to raise awareness about hunger & malnutrition around the world. This year's theme is 'Foods For A Better Life And A Better Future'. The UN says there's around 733 million people facing hunger in the world, because of a number of different factors. In line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) promises, the lawmaker marks the World Food Day with some of her constituents as a measure towards the ZERO HUNGER SDG Goal number two. The program of feeding will continue as the lawmaker plans to feed Ten Thousand Constituents before the end of the year. Addressing the group of people at Agulu town hall, Hon. Nkechi Ogbuefi urged the Government to make food accessible, affordable to enhance food security through Agricultural supports to smallholder farmers. She appealed to philanthropists, the church, wealthy citizens to hearken to the cry of the hungry & Needy and less privileged. She also acknowledged their Indispensable support, Continous Commitment and urged them to be their brothers' keepers through the assistance. In Appreciation, the leaders of the various Okada Riders thanked the Honourable House Member for the tremendous achievement and development she has attracted so far. They joined words in one accord and pledged unalloyed support to her. They also thanked the Honourable House Member for reaching out to the hungry in the grassroots. They encouraged her to keep being an inspiration to women, girls, the vulnerable amongst us.
